Crash Course: Genre

Class Description:

This is a crash course for improvisers who have genre blindspots or who just want to practice skills like mapping. Every week we'll discuss 1-2 genres from film and TV. We'll talk about the tropes of the genre, the characters, and the cliche scenes you can expect to find. Then we'll improvise using genre as the game of the scene i.e. the Drew Barrymore scene from Scream but it's your dentist calling.

ADVANCED STUDENTS ONLY: You should have had at least 4 levels of improv from any theater and must know the basics of our game-of-the-scene philosophy.
