Philip K. Dick Improv

INPERSONMULTIWEEKSKILLS2 SPOTS LEFT

We will do genre improv in the style of the writings of Philip K. Dick. You'll be required to read 3 actual short stories and wikipedia summaries of 4 novels. You don't need to know PKD going in, but you should have a general interest in doing sci fi stuff. Our scenes will play the tropes of: magical drugs, changing reality, evil governments, divorces and dumb names for protagonists. Application class: you sign up and then we will pick students based on experience level. We may email you to ask your experience level! (Please note: No class on Oct 1st)

Teacher: Will Hines

About Will Hines: Will has been teaching long-form improv since 2004 at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, at both its New York and Los Angeles branches. He's published a best-selling book on improv called How to Be The Greatest Improviser on Earth. He's also a working comedic actor and has appeared on many terrific television programs (Brooklyn 99, Search Party, Broad City, Inside Amy Schumer). He's a frequent guest on some big podcasts, including Comedy Bang-Bang, Improv4Humans, Hollywood Handbook as well as the 99 podcasts he's produced himself (currently Screw It We're Just Gonna Talk about the Beatles, Screw it We're Just Gonna Talk About Comics) Pretty cool! He's also the founder of the audaciously-named World's Greatest Improv School, an online and in-person improv school.
